Competition Rules
The LëtzMile takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Luxembourg City, on Avenue de la Liberté and its surroundings.
It is organised by CAL SPORA Luxembourg asbl (CSL), under the aegis of the Luxembourg Athletics Federation (FLA), for the events concerned.
These regulations apply to all participants, accompanying persons and persons registered for the various races of the event.
1. Tests
The program includes, in particular:
the Elite Miles for women and men
popular mile races
the U14 and U18 youth races
5km races
The schedules, exact distances, categories, age requirements, departure procedures and any participant limits are listed on the official website and on the registration platform.
The organizer may adapt the program if circumstances require it.
Elite Miles athletes participate by invitation or after their application has been validated by the organization.
2. Registration and Conditions of Participation
Registration is nominative, personal and non-transferable. By registering, each participant confirms that the information provided is complete, accurate and up-to-date.
Participation implies that the runner:
is in sufficient physical condition to take part in the event
assessed his fitness to run, if necessary after medical advice
meets the age requirements applicable to his race
accepts these regulations without reservation
For minors, registration and participation are the responsibility of their legal representative.
Any registration containing false, incomplete or misleading information may be cancelled by the organizer, without refund.
3. Bib number and timing
Participation is only permitted with the official race bib provided by the organizers. It must be worn visibly on the front of the body throughout the race and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or altered.
Timing is provided exclusively by the system supplied by the organizer. Without a valid bib number or timing chip, no official time or ranking can be established.
Participants must pass through all designated checkpoints and timing mats. Bib numbers must be collected according to the instructions provided by the organizers.
4. Path and behavior
The official route must be followed in its entirety. It is forbidden to cut, shorten, or use any unauthorized part of the route.
Participants must adhere to the following rules at all times:
instructions from volunteers, commissioners, law enforcement and emergency services
the highway code and temporary signage
the other participants, the public, local residents and event partners
the cleanliness of the site and its surroundings
It is forbidden to throw rubbish on the course.
These must be deposited in the bins provided for this purpose.
Participants do not automatically benefit from priority on public roads.
They must remain attentive to their surroundings, particularly to any public transport and vehicles authorized to circulate.
5. Equipment and support
Unless expressly authorized by the organizer, the following are prohibited on the course:
bicycles, scooters, rollerblades and other wheeled devices
strollers and trailers
dogs or other animals
any accompaniment by a non-registered person
headphones or headsets that prevent hearing safety instructions
Any outside assistance, any dangerous, unsportsmanlike or fraudulent behavior may result in exclusion or disqualification.
6. Rankings and awards
The rankings are established based on official timing data and the decisions of the race jury.
For events governed by FLA and/or World Athletics rules, the applicable sporting regulations supplement these rules. Results may be corrected after the event in the event of error, a valid complaint, or a regulatory review.
Prizes and awards must be collected according to the terms and conditions announced by the organization. No further delivery is guaranteed.
7. Disqualification
The following may lead to disqualification:
participation without an official bib number
the loan, exchange or modification of the bib
failure to follow the route or checkpoints
the use of unauthorized means
any fraudulent assistance
failure to comply with safety instructions or authorities
disrespectful, dangerous, or unsportsmanlike behavior
littering along the route
the use of substances or methods prohibited by applicable anti-doping regulations
The decision of the organizer and, where applicable, the race jury is final.
8. Abandonment, injury and medical assistance
Any participant who drops out must, if possible, immediately inform a member of the organization or the rescue team.
In case of illness, injury, or danger, the participant must notify the nearest staff member. The organizers may remove from the event any participant whose health or behavior poses a risk to themselves or others.
Medical assistance is authorized to make any decision necessary to protect the health of the participant, including their evacuation.
9. Modification or cancellation
The organizer reserves the right to modify the route, schedule, categories or any other aspect of the event, particularly for reasons of safety, weather, health, technical reasons or on the instructions of the competent authorities.
In the event of cancellation, interruption or modification due to force majeure, administrative decision or for any reason beyond the control of the organizer, no refund or compensation may be demanded, unless otherwise expressly communicated by the organizer.
No refund is due in the event of non-participation by the runner, for whatever reason.
10. Responsibility
Participation is at the participant's own risk. Each participant declares that they are in sufficient physical condition to take part in the event and have assessed their fitness to run, if necessary after medical advice.
The organizer accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury, illness, theft, loss or damage occurring before, during or after the event, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on their part.
Each participant is responsible for their personal belongings. Minors participate under the sole responsibility of their legal guardians.
11. Complaints
Participation is at the participant's own risk. Each participant declares that they are in sufficient physical condition to take part in the event and have assessed their fitness to run, if necessary after medical advice.
The organizer accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury, illness, theft, loss or damage occurring before, during or after the event, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on their part.
Each participant is responsible for their personal belongings. Minors participate under the sole responsibility of their legal guardians.
12. Data Protection
The data collected during registration is necessary for managing participation, timing, establishing rankings, security and communication related to the event.
They are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Participants can exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, or objection by contacting the organizer at the address indicated on the LëtzMile website.
The published sports results may include the participant's name, surname, club, category, time and ranking.
13. Right to one's image
Photographs and videos may be taken during the event by the organizer or by accredited service providers.
They can be used for communication, promotion and documentation of LëtzMile and CSL, on printed, audiovisual, digital and social media.
By participating, the runner agrees that their image, name, voice, and athletic performance may be used for this purpose, without financial compensation. Any specific requests should be submitted in writing to the organizer.
14. Acceptance of the regulations
Registration for the LëtzMile implies full and complete acceptance of these regulations as well as the instructions communicated by the organization before and during the event.
